For his first studio album in eight years, Peter Gabriel came up with an audacious plan. He decided to cover the work of his favourite artists and, in exchange, they would do the same for him.

Update: Gabriel's earlier cover of "Strawberry Fields Forever" this was for the 1976 movie musical "All this and World War II" , which had many artists doing covers of Beatles songs.
The approaches to the covers on Gabriel's new album remind me of this earlier cover.
